The Irish Independent Reader Travel Awards 2019 were announced recently, and you can imagine our surprise when it was announced that Castlewood House was the recipient of the Best Irish Welcome accolade.
Complied from feedback nationwide through the Irish Independent Newspaper, the comments received from the public, are evaluated by a panel of judges, including esteemed travel press and members of the Irish hospitality industry.
This award is really special to Brian and I, because it is such a personal and tangible thing, and more importantly, it was based on our personal welcome and service to our guests. We are so proud of our staff here at Castlewood who are all part of the effort we maintain to deliver excellent customer service. Each and every one of them are special to us, as is their role in making Castlewood House what it is.
We were really touched with some of the comments that were written about us such as “Pure class from start to finish” and “Helen and Brian are the definition of Irish Hospitality”
I had such a lovely day last week in the Cliff Townhouse in Dublin, at the award winner’s lunch and award presentation ceremony. It was so nice to meet our fellow award winners and members of the judging panel. It was also revealed that we were voted No 2 in the Best Irish Breakfast Category (which we won in 2017 and were finalists in 2018), and also runner up in Ireland’s Favourite Small Stay.
