Did you know that Dingle has become a Mecca for Foodies from all over the world?

The town’s vast variety of eating establishments, serving locally produced artisan food, together with the new micro – Dingle Brewery, and one of the most recent additions, the Dingle Distillery, all provide significant choice, for visiting guests interested in food and related produce.
To underpin Dingle’s efforts and reward the producers for their hard work, the town was delighted to accept the Best Foodie Town 2014 awarded by the Restaurants Association of Ireland earlier this year. A combined public vote and judged award, this marks Dingle as Ireland’s premier foodie destination. The award recognises that the destination actively promotes itself through joint promotional activities, such as, food festivals, gourmet trails, farmers’ markets, as well as great dining experiences.
Here at Castlewood House we are so lucky to work with the local food producers and restaurants, to ensure that our guests make the very most of their stay. With such a choice available in Dingle, there really is something for everyone. We personally love Out of the Blue and Global Village. Out of the Blue is fantastic for hopping fresh fish, whilst Global Village just won the Best Emerging Irish Cuisine category, again at the 2014 Irish Restaurants Association Awards.

We must not forget to mention Jim McCarthy’s Chart House, a lovely cosy restaurant with great food. Doyles, Ashes, Fentons, The Half Door, An Canteen, and the latest addition, Ida’s, there are so many terrific places to choose from when visiting Dingle. Make sure you visit some of these wonderful places next time you are here.
