The Dingle Peninsula is one of the most beautiful places in the world and we are so lucky to live here.
It is such a privilege to enjoy the majestic natural beauty of the area and to be totally immersed in the culture and the social life of the area. The peninsula offers such a diversity of activities and amenities and really has something for everyone.

If you are the outdoorsy type there are lots of adventure activities such as kayaking, mountain walking, horse riding, golf, diving, day trips to the Blasket Islands, surfing, biking and guides walking tours to name but a few.
There are also lots of interesting craftspeople such as Holden Leather and Dingle Crystal and for guests that stay with us here at Castlewood House, we can arrange a site visit to their workshops.

If you just want to enjoy nature, the Slea Head drive, which is included on the Wild Atlantic Way, is one of the most scenic drives in the world. Did you know it was listed by Lonely Planet in their Top 10 things to do? This drive is only 45 Km long and includes stunning beaches, amazing cliff walks – they even filmed part of the latest Star Wars movie, “The Last Jedi” on Ceann Sibeal, viewable form this drive. It also boasts the most archaeological monuments per square mile of anywhere else in Ireland.

We also have a wide diversity of pubs, restaurants and Irish music venues in our little town which boasts on having one pub for every week of the year, so 52 to explore!!

We will be blogging about lots of activities, visiting our local suppliers and craftspeople in their places of work over the coming months, so do check back regularly.

If that isn’t enough to convince you we also have lots of festivals and events taking place over the year, starting with the Dingle Walking Festival in February, The Dingle Film Festival in March, the Dingle Adventure Race on March 9th, the Dingle Marathon on 1st September, the Food Festival in October and ending with the Other Voices event in December.
For a full list of Festival and events please go to our events page here….

Brian, myself and the children look forward to helping you arrange your itinerary in Dingle in 2018.
