This is such an easy bread to make and has really rich flavour of Guinness and treacle



Preheat your oven to 180/160c fan

Grease your loaf tin

In a small pan melt your butter. Add the treacle and set aside.

In a large bowl mix the wholemeal flour, plain flour, porridge oats, sugar, salt and  bread soda together.

Add the Guinness and milk  to the melted butter and treacle. Now stir your wet ingredients into the flour mixture and combine well.

Spoon the mixture into the loaf tin – it should have a sticky consistency.

Sprinkle some porridge oats on top and bake in the centre of the oven for 50 minutes.

Once baked remove from tin and cool on a wire tray.
