We were thrilled to be announced as the winner of the accolade of Best Breakfast in Ireland in the 2022 Irish Independent Reader’s Travel Award. These awards have become an annual affair and are run by the Irish Independent newspaper. Readers are asked to vote for their favourite Irish operators/people in the hospitality industry. This is done online and then the public votes go before a judging panel, and they have the final vote. We were absolutely blown away to be named as Best Irish Breakfast again, as we won the same category in the inaugural Awards in 2017, and won Best Irish Welcome in 2018
It is an honour for us personally, and such a great morale boost for our fabulous little crew here at Castlewood House. So, what makes our breakfast award winning you may ask?
Well, we start with the very best produce that we source here on the Dingle Peninsula from our local artisan producers. From bacon, sausages, black and white puddings, fruit, fish, cheese and vegetables. We will be featuring a few of these on our blog in the coming weeks.
Secondly all our breads are made in-house by Brian, as is our world-famous Bread and Butter Pudding .
Thirdly, all our main courses are cooked to order, so you are getting each dish at its optimum.
Last, but by no means least, our fabulous breakfast service staff have been with us for years and are totally dedicated to making your breakfast an experience. They are also on hand to give you all the local knowledge about places to visit, or experiences to enjoy, while spending time here on the Dingle Peninsula.
